Senior R&D Chemometrician at JP3, Randy Bishop, presented at this year’s Corpus Christi Area Measurement Society (CCAMS) Conference to illustrate value-added use cases of JP3’s real-time data. The data made available through JP3’s NIR analyzer systems has proven valuable across a multitude of applications from wellhead to refinery. These include pipeline monitoring, blending operations, custody transfer, stabilizer plant operations, truck, tanker and rail on-/off-loading operations, in-situ distillation cuts of crude, and real-time fractionation column measurement. Some of the topics in JP3’s presentation included:
- Compositional monitoring and control of a Fractionation Column for active product adjustment based on market or production needs;
- On-line, pipeline-based measurement of crude composition/quality and distillation properties;
- Well-head monitoring for quality/control, custody transfer and reservoir management;
- Natural Gas custody transfer for representative sampling and fair payment;
- Truck Off-load productivity increase and detection of off-spec product;
- Refined fuels monitoring for interface minimization and quality control;
- Propane Blending to specifications.
